
A 15-year-old girl was raped at a popular park in Dorset.
The attack took place in the children’s play area in Poole Park on Thursday, September 25.
Police have arrested a 27-year-old man on suspicion of rape. He remains in custody.
Detectives said the suspect was not local but from 120 miles away in Carshalton, south London.
A cordon has been placed around the playground while forensics officers carry out their examinations.

There are also increased patrols in the area.

A police spokesperson said: ‘Dorset Police received a report at 9.57pm on Thursday that a 15-year-old girl was raped in the area of Poole Park by a man she had met earlier in the evening.
‘A detailed investigation into the report is being carried out by detectives and specialist officers are supporting the victim.
‘A cordon has been put in place to allow for an examination of the area to be carried out.
‘A 27-year-old man from Carshalton in London has been arrested on suspicion of rape.
‘He remains in police custody at this time.
‘Officers are carrying out increased patrols in the area and we would encourage anyone with concerns to please speak with an officer.’
