Officials reported a total of 197 cases last year, marking a 20% increase from the 164 cases recorded the previous year.
Chou Bun Eng, a senior official with the Ministry of Interior and the National Committee for Counter Trafficking, indicated that law enforcement apprehended 273 suspects, including 30 individuals from foreign countries.
Authorities successfully rescued 523 victims, with 230 of them being children, which accounts for nearly 44% of the total victims.
Bun Eng highlighted that child trafficking and sexual exploitation, both online and offline, are significant issues of concern.
She assured that the government would persist in combating all forms of human trafficking and safeguarding the rights of victims.

In Cambodia, many human trafficking incidents are linked to fraud, illegal employment, labor disputes, and unauthorized immigration.
Last month, Prime Minister Hun Manet vowed to take a strong stance against kidnapping, cybercrime, and human trafficking, asserting that Cambodia would not accept such offenses.
