The European Union will temporarily suspend its initial countermeasures in response to U.S. President Donald Trump’s tariffs for a period of 90 days, as stated by European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen on X.
“We have acknowledged President Trump’s announcement. We aim to allow negotiations to proceed. While we are in the process of finalizing the EU countermeasures, which received significant backing from our member states, we will pause their implementation for 90 days,” she stated.
