U.S. President Donald Trump and Secretary of State Marco Rubio have nominated Julie Davis, who is presently the U.S. ambassador to Cyprus, to take on the role of charge d’affaires at the U.S. embassy in Kyiv, as announced by State Department spokesperson Tammy Bruce on Thursday.
This decision is part of Washington’s efforts to facilitate a peace deal between Ukraine and Russia, following the resignation of former ambassador to Ukraine Bridget Brink last month.
