Six strikes targeted Yemen’s Hodeidah port, according to Houthi-affiliated Al Masirah TV, which attributed the strikes to Israel and the United States. The report comes a day after the Iran-aligned Houthis fired a missile that landed near Israel’s main airport.
As of now, there has been no official comment from either Israel or the U.S. However, Axios reporter Barak Ravid cited a senior U.S. official as stating that Israel had attacked Yemen in coordination with Washington.
Israeli media outlets, including Channel 12, also cited a senior Israeli official who reportedly confirmed Israel was attacking Yemen.
On Sunday, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu vowed to retaliate for the Houthi attack. The Houthis have been launching attacks against Israel and shipping in the Red Sea, stating their actions are in solidarity with the Palestinians.
