The Kremlin has responded to former U.S. President Donald Trump’s recent statement that Vladimir Putin had “gone absolutely CRAZY,” suggesting the remark may be due to emotional strain. At the same time, the Kremlin expressed gratitude for Trump’s past assistance in initiating peace negotiations regarding Ukraine.
Trump’s comment followed Russia’s large-scale aerial attack on Ukraine. He also stated he was considering new sanctions against Moscow, while also criticizing Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskiy.
When asked about Trump’s remarks, Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov acknowledged the emotional context surrounding the situation. “We are really grateful to the Americans and to President Trump personally for their assistance in organising and launching this negotiation process,” Peskov said.
“Of course, at the same time, this is a very crucial moment, which is associated, of course, with the emotional overload of everyone absolutely and with emotional reactions.”
