Despite recent statements suggesting a change in policy, the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) is still recommending COVID-19 vaccines for healthy children, according to a report by the Washington Post on Friday.
The Washington Post cited the CDC’s latest published immunization schedule, released late on Thursday, as the source of this information.
This recommendation comes after Health and Human Services Secretary Robert F. Kennedy Jr – along with the heads of the FDA and the NIH – reportedly stated earlier this week that the U.S. would stop recommending routine COVID-19 vaccines for healthy children and pregnant women.
