
Five soldiers have been shot in an ‘active shooter incident’ at the US Army’s Fort Stewart base in Georgia.
The mass shooting broke out in the 2nd Armored Brigade Combat Team complex at 10.46am on Wednesday, stated the Fort Stewart Hunter Army Airfield on Facebook.
A shooter was apprehended at 11.35am.
‘All Soldiers were treated on-site and moved to Winn Army Community Hospital for further treatment,’ stated Fort Stewart airfield.

‘There is no active threat to the community.’
The base was placed under lockdown at 11.04am and first responders treated the wounded soldiers five minutes later.
By 12.10pm, the lockdown in the main cantonment area was lifted, but was still in place in the combat team complex.
The incident is under investigation and few details have been released.
