Kim Kardashian has once again sparked headlines – this time for a medical journey that took her to Mexico.
The 44-year-old reality star revealed that she left the US with her sister Khloé to undergo a cutting-edge stem cell treatment not currently available in the United States.
On Instagram, she shared photos from inside an austere-looking medical facility, dressed in black pajamas and dark goggles, posing with her doctor and even showing a moment mid-procedure, with what appeared to be blood on her back.
The treatment, called Muse stem cell therapy, is offered by Dr. Adeel Khan at Eterna Health.
According to the clinic, Muse cells can achieve ‘complete cellular renewal’ by replacing compromised cells with fully functional tissue in targeted areas like muscles or joints.
Kardashian said she first sought the therapy two years ago after tearing her shoulder while lifting weights, an injury that left her in ‘debilitating pain.’

She claims that after the treatment, her shoulder recovered almost immediately, regaining full range of motion and eliminating the pain entirely.
Encouraged by that success, she returned to Mexico to address chronic back pain she says she had endured for years. Again, she reported immediate relief, describing the results as life-changing. S
he told her followers that if they struggle with similar pain, she ‘can’t recommend this treatment enough,’ but was careful to add that every case is different, urging people to do their own research and consult medical professionals before pursuing it.
Muse stem cells are not banned in the United States, but the therapy is not approved for general use. The FDA only authorizes certain types of stem cell treatments – such as those using umbilical cord blood stem cells for blood disorders – while most others remain in the experimental phase.

This regulatory gap has led many patients seeking regenerative therapies to travel abroad, where clinics operate under different oversight standards.
However, Kardashian’s post drew mixed reactions from the public. While some praised her openness in sharing her experience, others criticized the high cost (reportedly between $4,000 and $15,000 plus travel expenses) as a reminder that such breakthroughs remain out of reach for most people.
Her latest post highlights the growing interest in regenerative medicine, as well as the tension between innovation and accessibility in many areas of the medical field.
For now, Kardashian’s experience is both a testament to the potential of emerging science and a reflection of the privilege needed to explore its benefits before they become mainstream.
