Polish airspace monitoring services maintained communication with their Russian counterparts, who acknowledged the breach and indicated that it was caused by a navigation system failure on the aircraft.
“The flight path was promptly adjusted following the intervention of the navigator from the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation,” stated the Polish military command.
The aircraft was conducting a flight from Russia’s Kaliningrad exclave, as noted in the report.
