
A ‘sweet and funny’ four-year-old boy has been killed in a bus crash outside of a hospital in Kent.
Zaahir Jan was walking out of Queen Elizabeth, Queen Mother Hospital in Margate yesterday afternoon after visiting his grandmother when he ‘fell under’ the white single-decker vehicle.
His mum Azaria, who was with him at the time of the accident, said her son died instantly.
She said: ‘My son who is only four-years-old fell under a bus and he died immediately.
‘I am so lost, he was my son, my most beautiful little Jan. I don’t know what to do I can’t believe you are gone from me.

‘I can’t believe they couldn’t save you, I can’t believe this happened. I didn’t even get to tell you how much I love you.
‘Everyone is devastated, but that word doesn’t feel like enough to explain how we are all feeling.
‘Our sweet funny boy with a cheeky smile that could make anyone’s heart full. The smile that we can’t see again. Can’t hold him. Can’t cuddle him. Can’t hear him. Can’t have him sleeping in my bed tonight.
‘But I can try to give him the best and most comfortable burial. My baby I wish you were in my bed tonight cuddling. I love you my boy.’
Kent Police said: ‘Kent Police was called to Ramsgate Road shortly after 4pm on Thursday 7 August 2025 following a report of an incident involving a bus and a pedestrian outside Queen Elizabeth Queen Mother Hospital.
‘The bus, a white single decker vehicle, was travelling near the entrance to the A&E department.
‘It is reported that the pedestrian, a four year old boy, left the hospital on foot and a collision took place.’
