The Chinese embassies in India and Pakistan have advised Chinese citizens to increase their safety precautions and exercise caution when traveling to the South Asian countries. This advisory comes amidst escalating tensions and the most intense fighting in the region in nearly three decades.
The conflict between the nuclear-armed neighbors intensified after India conducted strikes on multiple locations within Pakistan on Wednesday, claiming they were “terrorist camps.” These strikes were in response to a deadly attack on Hindu tourists in Indian Kashmir last month.
In separate statements, the Chinese embassies in India and Pakistan urged Chinese citizens to closely monitor the situation and enhance their security measures.

Additionally, the Chinese embassy in Nepal has advised its citizens to avoid areas along the Nepal-India border. The embassy stated on its social media account on Friday that, due to the open border between Nepal and India, Chinese citizens should take extra care to avoid inadvertently crossing into India without a valid visa. The embassy also noted that both India and Nepal have increased security measures along their shared border in response to the heightened tensions.
