Becky Swain’s (Amy Cudden) arrival on Coronation Street has blown apart the lives of the Connor-Swains, and the tension continued to build in tonight’s episode.
Lisa Swain (Vicky Myers) was finally moving on with her life after getting engaged to Carla Connor (Alison King) when Becky rose from the dead earlier this month.
Becky had been supposedly been killed in a hit and run four years ago, but it transpired that she had actually been put in witness protection after an undercover operation went wrong.
Understandably, Lisa has been unwilling to forgive Becky for leaving and allowing her and daughter Betsy Swain (Sydney Martin) to grieve her, though Betsy has been more open to giving her a chance.
However, things didn’t exactly go to plan tonight when Betsy skipped college to spend time reconnecting with her other mum.
When Becky attempted to lecture Betsy on her behaviour of late, Betsy got upset, and pointed out that she had no right to parent her after disappearing from her life.

With Betsy having stormed off, Becky returned to No.6 where she was faced with Carla, who made no secret of her opinions.
As the pair rowed, Carla told Becky it would be better for everyone if she went back to being dead, and it was clear that the cutting remark stung.
However, Becky refused to take Carla’s advice, and later headed back around to talk to Lisa. When Betsy arrived, she was furious that her mum had let Becky in and ordered her to leave.
It was then that Becky gave her a handful of cards, revealing that while she was away, she had written a card for every one of Betsy’s birthdays saying what she wished she could tell her in person.

This softened Betsy, and she asked if Becky could stay for dinner.
With Lisa having agreed, Carla arrived home to a very domestic looking scene, as Becky helped Betsy and Lisa in the kitchen.
Though Carla assured Lisa that she was fine with it when the detective explained that Betsy had asked her to stay and she felt she couldn’t say no, it was clear that Carla wasn’t entirely comfortable.
Will Becky continue to force her way into the family dynamic until she’s pushed Carla out completely, or will the factory boss stand her ground and keep hold of her woman?
