Things have been tense for the Panesar-Unwins in EastEnders of late, after an enormous row tore the family apart.
It all started to go wrong when Suki Panesar-Unwin (Balvinder Sopal) realised that Avani Nandra-Hart (Aaliyah James) was pregnant, following a one night stand with tearaway teenager and misogynist, Joel Marshall (Max Murray), despite Avani initially wanting to keep her pregnancy a secret.
Avani was understandably horrified at the prospect of raising a child with twisted Joel, and began seeking advice online regarding an abortion.
Avani remained committed to her decision, despite Suki pleading with her that this could be her only opportunity to have a child, and planned to open up to her parents Priya Nandra-Hart (Sophie Khan Levy) and Ravi Gulati (Aaron Thiara).
At the abortion clinic, Suki convinced Avani to keep the baby so that she and wife Eve Panesar-Unwin (Heather Peace) could raise the it, without first consulting Eve.

When Eve discovered the situation, she wasn’t best pleased and the wives went head to head, although Eve eventually warmed to the idea of becoming a parent.
When Avani later began to suffer morning sickness and the impact on her mental health truly became obvious, Eve and Avani had a heart to heart and it became incredibly clear that the teen truly wanted to terminate the pregnancy, a decision Eve backed and promised to support her through.

When the rest of the family caught wind of this plot, they were horrified, and eventually Eve supported Avani in her decision to get an abortion, the fall-out of which was utter carnage.
The entire Panesar clan turned their back on Suki, and when Suki did a Suki and tried to turn the situation back on Eve, she left heartbroken, the state of their marriage evident.
When Eve became the target of a foul homophobic attack by Jonno Highway (Richard Graham), Suki became a source of support for her wife, and the ice between them began to melt.

Next week, having sold their house, Priya, Ravi and the kids move back into No.41, and Suki attempts to build bridges with her family. In discussion with Avani, she encourages Suki to reach out to Eve.
Suki takes her advice, and the couple agree to go for a drink. They meet at The Albert, where things get off to a rocky start, though they eventually get back on track.
It is then that Eve drops the bombshell that she wants to adopt a baby with Suki.

It seems that Suki is also keen on the idea, as Priya is shocked to find the matriarch looking up information about adoption.
When Priya realises that Suki plans on adopting with Eve, the news quickly spreads through the family, who are quick to cast judgements as they label Suki a bad mother and try to warn her off the idea.
Wounded and clearly shaken by her families words, Suki then heads out to speak to Eve – has she changed her mind about the adoption, or will it go ahead?
