Iran Nuclear Talks: Moscow Weighs In

On Wednesday, Iranian Deputy Foreign Minister Majid Takht Ravanchi engaged in discussions about Tehran’s nuclear program with his Russian counterpart, Sergei Ryabkov, as reported by the Russian Foreign Ministry.

The two officials focused on collaborative measures aimed at stabilizing the situation and alleviating tensions that have been “artificially and unreasonably heightened by Western nations.”

The ministry emphasized that any military action against Iran or threats to target its nuclear facilities would be deemed “illegal and unacceptable,” warning that such actions could lead to “widespread and irreversible radiological and humanitarian repercussions” for both the Middle East and the global community.

Earlier this year, the Kremlin proposed to act as a mediator between the United States and Iran, following the signing of a strategic partnership treaty with Moscow in January.

In response to Iran’s refusal to engage in direct talks with Washington, U.S. President Donald Trump stated over the weekend in an interview with NBC News that Tehran could face military action and additional tariffs if it fails to reach an agreement regarding its nuclear program.
