Peter Beale (Thomas Law) recently met a new mum called Demi in EastEnders. He enjoyed her company, but lines started to blur when they started flirting.
Demi and Peter met at the class and instantly connected, the chemistry between them undeniable. When Jimmy suffered a nappy-related accident and with Peter unprepared with a change of clothes, Demi lent him her daughters sparkly tutu.
When she offered her number to Peter, he initially resisted, though when Demi insisted it was to organise the return of the tutu, he relented, though his eyes widened further when he saw Demi’s phone background: she’s a professional burlesque dancer.
As Peter traded secretive texts with Demi later, he sought his dad, Ian Beale’s (Adam Woodyatt) advice.

Ian was unequivocal: he should cut all contact with Demi and resist the temptation to play with fire, though it seemed Peter was a little too tempted to dip his toe into troublesome waters.
When Lauren found a text from Demi on Peter’s phone, she was left with a lot of thoughts. Peter assumed that Lauren would hit the roof and react badly to another woman flirting – but she didn’t.
Lauren didn’t seem too bothered by it. She knew that other women would find Peter attractive, and felt confident their relationship wouldn’t get impacted.

In tonight’s episode, Penny (Kitty Castledine) sent Demi a message via Lauren’s phone. The trio then met in the café, and Penny wasted no time in questioning Demi over Peter.
Demi admitted that she likes Peter because he seemed like a genuine, good guy. Penny thinks Peter is terribly boring, but Lauren understood what Demi was saying.
In an odd turn of events, Demi then bought Lauren and Penny another coffee and sat down with them. They laughed over Peter’s icks, and Demi enjoyed the fact she was connecting with other women.

The sight of Lauren speaking to Demi left Peter taken aback. At home, Peter was surprised again when Lauren admitted that she didn’t have an issue with Demi enjoying Peter’s presence. In fact, she liked it.
As parents to two young children, a typical day for Lauren and Peter simply means looking after Louie and Jimmy.
With this in mind, Lauren told Peter that they still deserve some spontaneity and surprise in their lives, and believed Demi was an example of this.
Just before the episode ended, Peter visited Ian and Kathy Beale (Gillian Taylforth) with an idea.
He said in order to put passion back in his relationship, he’s going to surprise Lauren with a lavish wedding.
