Man dies after falling from car park at Manchester Airport

A man has died after falling from a car park roof at Manchester Airport.

The fatal incident happened on Thursday afternoon at a car park near Terminal 1 at the UK’s third busiest airport.

Air ambulance crews also attended after the alarm was raised over concern for the welfare of a man at about 3.30pm.

A cordon was set up around the area where the man died and an investigation was launched.

The death is not being treated as suspicious, it is understood.

The incident did not affect flights to and from the airport, and there was no risk to the public.

No further details have been released regarding the victim.

Greater Manchester Police said: ‘We are currently responding to a concern for welfare incident at a car park at Manchester Airport.

Manchester Airport is the third-busiest airport in Britain after Heathrow and Gatwick.

Over 30 million passengers travelled through its terminals last year.
