Nicolas Jackson has spoken out on his future at Chelsea after being linked with a shock move to Manchester United.

Chelsea are open to offers for the Senegal striker after signing Joao Pedro and Liam Delap this summer.

There were already doubts over Jackson’s future at Stamford Bridge given his two largely underwhelming campaigns in the Premier League.

Jackson has chipped in with regular goals – scoring 30 in 81 games – but his finishing has come in for criticism while his temperament has also been questioned following two red cards in his last six games.

The 24-year-old is deemed surplus to requirements following the signings of Pedro from Brighton and Delap from Ipswich Town, but Chelsea’s £80m asking price is putting off potential suitors.

Asked whether he feared for his future at Chelsea given the ‘serious competition’ he will face, if he stays put, following the arrivals of Pedro and Delap, Jackson said: ‘Competition? I have no competition.

‘We’re all here to help the club. Everyone has their role to play. I’m on a mission. It’s up to the coach to make his choices. I focus solely on my work.’

Jackson, who cost Chelsea £32m back in 2023, has been heavily linked with Manchester United since the signings of Pedro and Delap.

Ruben Amorim appears keen to bring a new striker to Old Trafford and Jackson emerged as a possible target before United began to prioritise a deal for Benjamin Sesko.

Pressed on the talk of a summer transfer move away from Chelsea, Jackson told DSports TV: ‘I’m a Chelsea player.

‘The future belongs to God. If there are any changes, you’ll know. For now, I’m focused on my preparation.’

Reflecting on his spell at Stamford Bridge, Jackson added: ‘It’s football, there are ups and downs.

‘Last season we won two trophies. There were difficult moments, moments of glory. Every season is like that.

‘But the most important thing is to stay focused, to learn, and to grow in the face of adversity.’

Chelsea are yet to start pre-season following their victorious Club World Cup campaign but face Bundesliga side Bayer Leverkusen and Italian giants AC Milan next weekend.

The Blues, who finished fourth in the Premier League last season, kick-start their 2025-26 campaign on August 17 against Crystal Palace.
