Abuja, Nigeria – Nigeria is making a concerted push to establish itself as a major player in the global technology arena, with the National Information Technology Development Agency (NITDA) officially launching the Local Organizing Committee (LOC) for GITEX Nigeria 2025. The inauguration took place at a stakeholder forum held in Abuja on Thursday, April 3, 2025, where NITDA Director-General Malam Kashifu Inuwa Abdullahi emphasized the agency’s commitment to ensuring the event’s success. Represented by Mr. Olawumi Oladejo, Director of the Department of IT Infrastructure Solutions at NITDA, Inuwa highlighted the importance of GITEX Nigeria in showcasing the country’s growing influence in the global tech landscape.
GITEX, a well-established technology event in the Middle East, is now expanding its reach to Africa, with Nigeria chosen as the host country. The establishment of the LOC is seen as a crucial step in positioning Nigeria as a hub for technology and innovation, attracting global stakeholders, innovators, and thought leaders.
