Oasis fan dies after falling from stands at Wembley Stadium concert

An Oasis fan has died after falling from an upper tier of Wembley Stadium during the band’s show on Saturday.

The man – aged in his 40s – was understood to be sitting in the upper tier of the stadium as Noel and Liam Gallagher performed to a sell-out crowd last night.

Although police and paramedics rushed to assist him, he was pronounced dead at the scene.

Confirming the news in a statement to Metro, a Metropolitan Police spokesperson said: ‘At around 22:19hrs on Saturday, 2 August, officers on duty at Wembley Stadium for the Oasis concert responded alongside venue medics and the London Ambulance Service to reports that a person had been injured.

‘A man – aged in his 40s – was found with injuries consistent with a fall. He was sadly pronounced dead at the scene.

‘The stadium was busy, and we believe it is likely a number of people witnessed the incident, or may knowingly or unknowingly have caught it on mobile phone video footage.’

Police have asked the public for any information that could help them confirm what happened, urging them to call 101, quoting 7985/02AUG.
