Russia’s foreign ministry announced on Tuesday that it is continuing to develop a draft memorandum outlining the principles of a possible future peace accord to end the war in Ukraine.
Following a call with U.S. President Donald Trump earlier this month, Russian President Vladimir Putin stated that Moscow was prepared to collaborate with Ukraine on a memorandum regarding a future peace agreement.
Putin said the memorandum would establish the principles for a potential settlement, the timeline for a possible peace agreement, and details concerning a potential ceasefire.
Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharova said that work on the Russian draft is ongoing and that the document will be presented to Ukraine once it is finalized.
“Russia continues to develop a draft memorandum on a future peace treaty, defining a number of positions, such as the principles of settlement, the timing of a possible peace agreement, and a potential ceasefire for a certain amount of time if appropriate agreements are reached,” she stated.
