The Russian Foreign Ministry expressed approval of the recent discussions with the United States in a statement released on Friday, describing the talks as “substantive and businesslike.”
On Thursday, Russian and U.S. representatives engaged in six hours of negotiations in Turkey aimed at reinstating the normal operations of their embassies. President Vladimir Putin noted that initial interactions with Donald Trump’s new administration had fostered a sense of optimism.
The Foreign Ministry indicated that the delegations addressed matters concerning what it termed the unlawful seizure of Russia’s diplomatic assets in the U.S. and urged the American side to contemplate the restoration of direct air travel links.

It was reported that both parties reached an agreement on measures to ensure the continuous funding and regular functioning of their respective embassies.
