South Korea Bans Drone Flights near the Constitutional Court before Yoon’s Impeachment Ruling.

South Korea’s aviation authorities will implement a ban on drone flights in the vicinity of the Constitutional Court in Seoul starting Thursday, in anticipation of the ruling regarding President Yoon Suk Yeol’s impeachment.

This restriction will be in effect from Thursday through the following Wednesday, as detailed in a notice to airmen released by the transport ministry’s aeronautical information system on Wednesday.

The court is anticipated to announce its decision on Yoon’s impeachment soon, although the specific date has not yet been disclosed.

In a prior statement, police indicated that they had requested the ministry to enforce a temporary drone ban around the court and surrounding areas, covering a distance of 1.85 km (1.1 miles) until the end of the month.

Law enforcement is expected to increase their presence, and subway stations along with nearby schools will be closed on the day the ruling is announced, which will determine Yoon’s political fate following his brief declaration of martial law on December 3.
