Launched by Mizo Games, the game 2045 successfully secured over NT$4 million (approximately $122,160) through crowdfunding and sought the expertise of military professionals to enhance its authenticity.
In this scenario, Taiwan faces defeat if a considerable number of key cities on the island are captured by the People’s Liberation Army (PLA) of China.

Chang Shao-lian, the founder of Mizo Games, explained that 2045 differs from their previous war games, which required players to collaborate for victory.
“We’re discussing a landing conflict in Taiwan, but we have introduced some moderation to step away from the middle ground and state that this will occur now. Regardless of whether Taiwan emerges victorious or suffers defeat in the war, there will be a winner,” Chang conveyed to AFP.
