Having assumed office on January 20 for his second, non-consecutive term, Trump has hinted at the idea of a third term but spoke more explicitly during a phone interview with NBC News on Sunday.

“I’m not joking. I’m not joking,” Trump asserted, adding that “it is far too early to think about it.”
He mentioned that there are ways to approach this, although he did not provide any specific details on those methods.
According to the 22nd Amendment of the U.S. Constitution, presidents are restricted to serving two four-year terms, whether they are consecutive or not.
