Spain’s Prime Minister will Visit Ukraine on Monday to Support Zelenskiy.

Spanish Prime Minister Pedro Sanchez announced his intention to visit Ukraine on Monday to express solidarity with President Volodymyr Zelenskiy and to support Ukrainian democracy. This statement came on Thursday, following U.S. President Donald Trump’s characterization of Zelenskiy as a “dictator” just a day prior.

Trump’s comments, along with a shift in U.S. policy regarding the ongoing three-year conflict in Ukraine, have raised alarm among European allies about the potential implications for their stance against Russia.

In a message shared on the social media platform X, Sanchez stated, “I will be in Kyiv on Monday to reaffirm Spain’s commitment to Ukrainian democracy and to President Zelenskiy.”

Additionally, Trump has suggested that Ukraine bears responsibility for Russia’s invasion in 2022, and his administration has initiated discussions for a peace agreement directly with the Kremlin, excluding Ukraine and European partners from the negotiations.
