NASENI Aims to Boost “Made in Nigeria” Initiative

IBADAN, Nigeria – The National Agency for Science and Engineering Infrastructure (NASENI) is intensifying its efforts to promote local manufacturing and drive industrial growth in Nigeria, aiming to reduce reliance on imports.

NASENI recently convened a forum in Ibadan, bringing together industry leaders, policymakers, and entrepreneurs to discuss strategies for enhancing the competitiveness of Nigerian-made goods. The theme of the forum was “Made in Nigeria for Everyone,” reflecting a call to increase domestic consumption of locally manufactured products.

Mr. Ahmed Hamzat from NASENI’s innovation hub outlined the agency’s strategy, which includes fostering local innovation, promoting collaboration, and facilitating the export of Nigerian products. The goal is to strengthen Nigeria’s economy, create jobs, and support local talent.

NASENI provides engineering solutions to various sectors, including agriculture, construction, and power, and encourages Nigerian manufacturers to meet international standards. The agency aims to support local businesses through smarter policies, improved access to technology, and a level playing field.

NASENI’s efforts are focused on building a stronger industrial base for Nigeria by promoting the production and consumption of locally made goods.
