Following a very public rift with his own family, Adam Peaty has bestowed a major title on father-in-law Gordon Ramsay – earning the ire of his aunt.

Having uninvited his own parents from his wedding to Holly Ramsay, 26, in December, the celebrity chef has revealed Olympian Adam, 30, now calls him ‘dad’.

Speaking to The Sun, Hell’s Kitchen star and proud dad Gordon, 59, said he feels like he’s gained a son, not lost a daughter, following Holly’s nuptials at Bath Abbey.

‘He calls me dad,’ he said of Adam. ‘He messaged me and said, “Hey, Dad. What have you got? Hey, Dad. Are you around later?” And it’s just like, “Oh my God.” Incredible. And what a lovely couple.’

In response to that revelation, Adam’s mum’s sister, Louise, posted a lengthy statement to Threads, saying Adam’s father worked his hands ‘bloody’ so Adam could follow his dream.

She wrote: ‘Oh Adam your poor dad. How could you? That man literally worked his hands bloody in order that you could pursue your dream… He worked long long days as a brickie – a hard laborious back breaking job. He did it without moan or complaint.’

‘Ive got tears in my eyes as I type this. Your dad worked his hands raw and bleeding to pay your swimming expenses before you got sponsorship…

‘He worked long long days as a brickie – a hard laborious back breaking job. He did it without moan or complaint…. Look at Adams toadying behaviour towards Mr Ramsay and the disgusting way he has treated my sister and brother in law.’

She also referenced Adam’s praise for his swimming coach Melanie Marshall, who he said ‘shaped him into the man he is today’.

‘You credit Mr Ramsay as your dad. You credit Mel for shaping you into the man you are today. What about your mum and dad? You are a complete and utter tool.’

She continued: ‘Insult us all you like I dont give a monkeys uncle…

‘The Ramsays Adam and Holly know they have done wrong which is why they are love bombing on tv online and in the newspapers. They have a pr team that makes their s***e look like spun gold…

‘However we have something that trumps that and its called THE TRUTH. You can fool people some of the time but eventually the truth outs. Look at the nastiness in his documentary.’

The gold medallist has been feuding with his fellow Peatys since November, except for his sister, Bethany, whom influencer Holly asked to be one of her bridesmaids.

And while his mum, Caroline, has been vocal about the devastation the feud has caused for her, even going as far as to brand Gordon a ‘bully’, it seems Adam is well and truly settled in his new life.

Gordon previously declared Adam and Holly ‘a dream’ for him and his own wife of 30 years, Tana.

The chef went on to recall the day his eldest daughter said ‘I do’ to The Sun, getting ’emotional’ just remembering walking her down the aisle.

‘And I sort of got a new son as well, as opposed to saying goodbye to Holly,’ he added. ‘An amazing day. And yeah, Bath Abbey, just beautiful, really beautiful.

‘The whole thing just went incredibly well.’

His praise for Adam comes after a war of words with Caroline and Mark Peaty, who were ‘outraged’ after Gordon claimed the feud was ‘self-inflicted’ on their part.

In his original comments, Gordon claimed ‘we’ve done nothing’, such as show any ‘rudeness’ or ‘ignorance’ towards them.

Insisting Caroline and Mark were ‘welcomed’ by him and Tana, he added: ‘We sent a chauffeur-driven car for them to come to the engagement party and treated them like royalty. So, to get that barrage of press was very hurtful. Tana took it very seriously.’

Hitting back, a Peaty family source told The Sun: ‘Gordon is nothing but a big bully, and we hate bullies.’

Continuing the row, Gordon then responded once more, branding their accusations ‘absolute nonsense’

‘I’m certainly not a bully,’ he defended in an interview.

‘I think when you send personal chauffeur cars up to Nottingham to invite this incredible family down to enjoy their party – by the way, Holly and Adam were hosting that party, Caroline and Mark, Tana and I were guests – [it’s] so appalling to even suggest there was any bullying. That’s absolute nonsense.

‘Secondly, opening up our door, welcoming them into the family, at the end of the day, there was a lot of friction going on before all that, and so there was some stuff that they needed to sort out, and so it was sad to see that barrage of negativity that was self-propelled by them.’

Gordon also suggested the Peatys started ‘enjoying that kind of press attention’ and would ‘revel in it’.

‘You’re sort of feeding the beast.’

Headlines began swirling around the swimmer’s family when his brother, James, was arrested for allegedly threatening him.

Police met Adam at Manchester Airport after his trip to Budapest, escorting him safely through the building before confirming an individual had been detained and then released on bail ‘on suspicion of harassment’.

Adam and James’s dad, Mark, later confessed that matters had ‘got out of hand’, as the brothers had ‘always been close’ and able to ‘fall out and make up like any normal family’.

It’s believed tension began forming after Caroline supported James, with Adam’s only public statement being an Instagram post in which he said there are ‘two sides to every story’ and claimed ‘serious matters arose long before recent events’ that he couldn’t address.

Alas, it seems distance only grew between him and his parents.

It’s said his father was invited to his and Holly’s wedding, but he chose not to go, as he’d been instructed to ‘sit at the back’, while Caroline had also originally vowed to ‘watch from the street’ in somewhat of an act of protest, but stood down after her husband convinced her it’d be too ‘upsetting’.

All the while, she had the full backing of her ‘protector’ and sister, Louise, who certainly hasn’t minced her words when speaking about her feelings towards her nephew in recent months.

It’s said she sent him a stern text message hours before his wedding, telling him: ‘I hope you never suffer the depth of pain you have put your mother through and despite it all she loves you still. Shame on you both. Shame.

‘Remember on this, your happiest day, and on each anniversary of your happiest day, that you hurt your mum so deeply her soul screams.’

Adam had allegedly blocked his family by this point, so he did not receive it.

He also struck other relations off the guest list, such as his great aunt Janet, 73, and uncle Eddie, who received an automated message mere days before, despite already forking out for outfits and accommodation.

The athlete has distanced himself from former friends, too, with further reports claiming gold medallist Michael Gunning was uninvited, despite attending the pair’s engagement party and always expressing public support for Adam.

Still, the wedding was a mighty success, with family friends David and Victoria Beckham in attendance, the fashion designer even dressing the bridesmaids in her gowns.

Adam and Holly jetted off for a honeymoon straight after, sharing a bunch of snaps on social media from their tropical escape.

Upon their return, Adam penned a Valentine’s Day tribute to his wife, saying: ‘What a month it’s been together on our honeymoon and such an incredible way to end it in Singapore. So many incredible moments that I’ll cherish forever.’
