Rex Gallagher (Jonny Labey) makes a big decision in Hollyoaks next week as he steps out in public while experimenting with his look while Mercedes McQueen (Jennifer Metcalfe) finds herself torn between two men.
The week in question proves a big one for a number of mainstays, including Tony and Diane Hutchinson (Nick Pickard and Alex Fletcher), who arrive home after their trip to London.
Diane, as viewers know, discovered earlier this month that she had been diagnosed with stage four cancer and had just six months to live. Reeling from the news, Tony resolved to get a second opinion, with the long-serving pub landlords heading to Harley Street.
But they arrive home in upcoming scenes. Has there been a further update?
Tony and Diane’s news
That remains to be seen but Tony informs Ste (Kieron Richardson) of what the doctors have said, prompting him to move his wedding forward as he asks Di to be his Maid Of Honour and Tony his best man.
Diane, meanwhile, keeps Eva off school for some mother daughter time and Tony finds a letter she has ignored from the oncologist.
Tony breaks down to Ste, unable to come to terms with the thought of life without Diane. Ste vows to support him and later encourages Diane, who is struggling with Dee Dee’s (Chloe Atkinson) behaviour, to tell her kids the truth.
Rex’s big step as Ste plans a wedding
Speaking of Ste, wedding preparations are underway and Rex tries on the suit his betrothed has ordered for him.
Ro (Leo Cole), meanwhile, suggests a Drag night so that Rex can explore his identity but when Ste interrupts, Rex claims it was just a suggestion for the stag do.
Later, Rex confides in Froggy Black (John Middleton) about the drag event Ro suggested and the former gangster urges him to give it a go.

Dressed in a set of killer heels, a long dress and a wig, Rex decides to go out in public for the first time while experimenting with his look, heading to an LGBTQ+ club night – and he’s warmed by the reception he receives.
Mercedes and Warren torn as Jenson makes an impression
Elsewhere, Mercedes finds Jenson (Ryan Clayton) asleep after a night of getting to know his brother Warren (awks) and she intends to find out what he’s up to. When quizzed on the matter, Jenson admits his intentions weren’t honourable to begin with but he’s since caught feelings for her.
Oh boy.
Our Merce is confused herself, especially given the chemistry between her and the newcomer but she warns him what Warren Fox (Jamie Lomas) is capable of. In typical Hollyoaks fashion, however, there appears to be more going on than meets the eye as Jenson receives a mysterious call, confirming he owes money to someone. But who?
Later, Jenson decides to throw a relaunch party at The Loft – against Warren’s wishes. Playing with fire there mate.
Warren invites Gemma Johnston (Tisha Merry) to a nice restaurant but she’s more keen on the idea of going to The Loft opening. Theresa (Jorgie Porter) reckons Warren had better decide who he wants.
And at the relaunch party, all eyes are on Mercedes. But just what has transpired?
Gemma’s dilemma
With the salon opening imminent, Vicky Grant (Anya Lawrence) urges Gemma to prescribe her weight-loss injections otherwise she’ll take her chances with the illegal ones.
Gemma reiterates she cannot do such a thing but will she remains steadfast in her decision? The salon subsequently opens and Vicky thanks Gemma for her support.
