Anna Williamson has shared a post on Instagram urging people not to ignore things in their bodies that feel ‘off’ after having a large cyst checked by a doctor.

The Celebs Go Dating star’s message comes days after Married At First Sight expert Mel Schilling posted a health update disclosing that cancer had spread to her brain, saying: ‘I honestly don’t know how long I have left.’

In her new Instagram post, Anna, 44, shared a selfie of herself in a medical room, as well as a picture of an examination table.

She began her caption by writing: ‘If this platform can be used for good, I will always try where I can. I was reminded this week how precious life is. How fragile our health is and how often I may personally take it for granted.

‘Now, I joke about being a hypochondriac (and tbh I can be at times) but in truth I tend to focus on those around me more health wise than myself because I am so used to being in that role.’

Anna then said: ‘This week one of my friends was given the worst news anyone can get 😔 and reminded us all that if it doesn’t feel right, get it checked. So I’ve listened.’

The TV personality explained that she was aware of a large cyst that she has ‘down there’, and while it had been previously checked, it was ‘bothering’ her again.

‘I was putting off getting it checked as I’ve been busy. But I realised that was not the advice I give, nor is being given to me. So yesterday I rang the GP, they were fantastic and I got an appointment today (I know, incredible!) with their Saturday clinic to get checked,’ she wrote.

‘Full examination and referral to a gynaecologist done 👍 but most importantly fears alleviated that it’s not of concern and is purely cosmetic.’

Anna outlined how she was examined by a male GP, who she described as being ‘excellent’ and ‘very knowledgeable’.

She said that the whole process was ‘priceless in giving me peace of mind’.

‘Please please don’t ignore things in your body that feel ‘off’. We’ve all got genitals and no one particularly loves whipping them out for examining, but remember, the docs see willy’s, vag’s, boobs, bums aaaallll the time,’ Anna penned.

‘They give zero s**ts whether you’re super clean/shaved/got good undies on. They are there to do their job and look after you.’

Anna ended her message by recalling the advice Mel gave in her own post, saying: ‘From something so horribly cruel happening to one of the bravest people I know, I want to share Mel’s selfless advice to “just get it checked because it might just save your life”.’❤️

Several people praised Anna in the comments for her important message, with Celebs Go Dating star Lucinda Light writing: ‘Good work beauty. I’m doing all those checks etc as soon as I get back to Australia. Time to tick off all the “I’ll do it later” stuff. Big wake up this last week 😢💔.’

‘Wishing you well Anna. Well done for using your platform to encourage us all to take better care of ourselves xxx,’ said an Instagram user called Andria.

‘I needed this will be on to my consultant on Monday whatever the result 👏❤️,’ Lorna also shared.

On Thursday, Mel, 54, shared a post on Instagram giving her followers an update on her health.

The Married At First Sight star began by discussing being diagnosed with colon cancer in 2023, which involved having a tumour removed, and receiving the all clear.

In February 2024, nodules were found on her lungs during a routine scan.

‘The cancer had metastasised and my world changed again in an instant,’ she recollected.

‘Over the past two years, while filming MAFS, I underwent 16 rounds of chemotherapy and was later told I was eligible for a groundbreaking clinical trial specific to my gene type, due to start in March 2026. Once again, my optimism soared that I might beat this thing,’ she shared.

However, over Christmas, she ‘began experiencing blinding headaches and numbness’ down her right side.

‘After many tests I was told the cancer had spread to the left side of my brain and, despite subsequent radiotherapy sessions, my oncology team have now told me there is nothing further they can do,’ she said.

‘Hearing those words changes everything. So that’s where I am now. My light is starting to fade — and quickly. But I am still here, still fighting, and surrounded by the most incredible love.’

At the end of her post, Mel concluded by writing: ‘If I could leave you with one thing, it would simply be this: if something doesn’t feel right, please get it checked out. It might just save your life.’
