Indications emerged on Tuesday that the All Progressives Congress (APC) presidential primary for the 2027 general election may hold in Lagos State on Saturday May 23.
Though the ruling party is yet to make an official announcement on the venue, party sources said ongoing logistical and political arrangements point strongly to Lagos as the likely host city for the high-stakes exercise.
The development comes as the APC continues its nationwide primaries ahead of the 2027 polls.
The party recently concluded its Senate and House of Representatives primaries across several states, producing candidates for the National Assembly elections.
In Ogun State, Governor Dapo Abiodun emerged winner of the Ogun East Senatorial primary, while Senator Ali Ndume secured the APC ticket for Borno South Senatorial District after emerging as consensus candidate.
Similarly, in Rivers State, several candidates emerged from the APC House of Representatives primaries, including Speaker of the Rivers State House of Assembly, Martin Amaewhule, Dumnamene Deekor and others.
The APC House of Assembly primaries are expected to hold Wednesday, while governorship primaries are scheduled for Thursday.
