A candidate on this year’s series of BBC’s The Apprentice has apologised for dangerously filming herself while driving.
Loungewear entrepreneur Carrington Saunders has shared multiple videos of herself talking to the camera while she is behind the wheel on her YouTube channel.
In the footage, Saunders was seen taking both hands off the wheel for prolonged periods of time, as well as taking her eyes off the road.
One video also showed her almost having a crash, as she said: ‘I nearly hit my rims’.
Speaking to the Sun on Sunday, Saunders said: ‘I regret my actions and apologise unreservedly.

‘Driving while filming content is unsafe and unacceptable, and I take full responsibility for this serious lapse in judgement.’
Using a device while driving is illegal under UK law and carries fines of up to six points and in some cases a ban.
Driving with a phone at the wheel is one of the ‘fatal four’ most likely to cause death, alongside speeding, driving under the influence and not wearing a seatbelt.
In 2023, 23 people were killed and 652 injured in the UK where a driver was using a mobile phone.
Ahead of her appearance on The Apprentice, Saunders said that she is ‘not afraid to speak my mind, stand up for what I believe in and take the lead’.
While securing a first-class business degree, the south East Londoner built her online loungewear business from the ground up, relying entirely on social media.
This comes after another Apprentice star released an apology after social media posts resurfaced featuring ‘vile’ racist and sexist comments before the series is due to air.
This Thursday, series 20 of the BBC business show led by Sir Alan Sugar will return, featuring 20 new faces.
Tim Campbell and Baroness Karren Brady will return as the right and left-hand advisers of the TV business mogul.
Among the contestants, which include a barbershop owner to a Kim Kardashian-inspired mortgage broker, there has been further controversy ahead of the season.
One of the cohort, Levi Hague, 33, supported far-right activist Tommy Robinson in social media posts from the early 2010s, which have been unearthed after he was confirmed in this year’s line-up for the reality show.
His now removed posts on X, then Twitter, reportedly included referring to the police who arrested Robinson in 2012 as ‘pigs’ and calling women ‘s**gs’.
One post read: ‘Thank f*** that extremist dirty Muslim preacher getting took [sic] out of this country. Just a waste of money and waste of space. F*** off.’
Metro has contacted Saunders, the BBC and AA for comment.
The Apprentice returns to iPlayer and BBC One from January 29.
