Sir Paul McCartney is gearing up to announce his new album and tour – at the age of 83.
The legendary musician has shown no signs of slowing down, as it has been rumoured that he is set to release a new album by the end of the year.
A source revealed that Sir Paul is ‘really proud’ of the album and is ready to tour the UK again.
Speaking to The Sun newspaper’s Bizarre column, the source said: ‘Paul has been working on the album all year and initially hoped it would be out by the end of this year, but as with most things, plans change.
‘It’s not quite finished, but the majority of the album is done and Paul is really proud of it.
‘As for live shows, he’s told his team he wants to tour the UK again, so live gigs next year are also happening.’

The singer turned 83 in June this year, but hasn’t slowed down a jot in his later age, going on the Get Back tour in 2022 which isn’t set to end until later this year.
Paul heads out on the North American leg of the tour on September 29 in Palm Desert, California, and finishes on November 25 in Chicago.
The three-year tour was preceded by the Freshen Up tour in 2018 and 2019 and a selection of Secret Gigs in 2018.
The singer’s last album, McCartney III, came out in 2020, marking his 26th solo album. With his band Wings, the singer has released seven studio albums, and with The Beatles, he released 12 main studio albums, plus a selection of compilations.
Speaking about the possibility of retirement in June 2025, McCarntney has previously said: ‘I figure when I get really fed up, then that’ll be the time to think about it.
‘But I’m loving it. And we play beautiful places like this, and the audiences are fantastic, so warm. And I love playing with the band, so there’s no point in retiring.’

While speaking to fans last month, he spoke about how regimented his routine is while touring.
‘I always get called an hour before the show, well, an hour before I’m going to be needed.
‘In that time, I do certain things: I have a gargle with salt water, then I do my teeth, then I figure out what I’m going to wear, and then I have a kind of Chinese syrup solution you put hot water in.
‘It’s supposed to be good for your throat — if you’ve ever seen pictures of me before the show with a cup, that is what’s in it.’

And the work doesn’t stop there. McCartney has co-authored a book about his time in his band Wings, set to be released in November.
The icon formed the rock band in 1971, after the Beatles split, and consists of McCartney’s wife Linda, drummer Denny Seiwell, and guitarist Denny Laine.
The new book, Wings: The Story of a Band on the Run, comes as Paul also promotes The Beatles Anthology, a nine-part documentary series featuring previously unreleased footage, also set to release in November.
