Just days after the Peaky Blinders movie dropped on Netflix, the six-season show has also soared up the top 10 chart.
Thomas Shelby (Cillian Murphy) was back in action four years after the dramatic season six finale of the BBC show with the highly anticipated feature-length follow-up, The Immortal Man.
The movie has comfortably claimed its spot at the number one spot, and it looks as though the TV show is following its lead, as it climbs to number five in an unprecedented move.
No doubt fans have been inspired to do a rewatch before (or after) catching up with the gang.
Praised as ‘the best British gang drama of all time’ by some, the Steven Knightshow which originally ran from 2013 to 2022, has proved its staying power in the fabric of British culture.

What is Peaky Blinders about?
For those unfamiliar, the show follows gang leader Tommy, who must navigate Birmingham’s treacherous underbelly in the direct aftermath ofWorld War One.
Faced with power struggles, violent confrontations and heartwrenching betrayals, this action-packed crime thriller has gripped countless fans for over a decade.
The OG series also starred the inimitable late Helen McCroy as the Shelby matriarch, as well as Anya Taylor-Joy, Sophie Rundle, Paul Anderson, Tom Hardy and Stephen Graham.
The series enjoys a whopping 94% Rotten Tomatoes audience score on average across its six seasons, no small feat. A figure closely resembled with the critics’ score.
‘For Tommy, a truly compelling anti-hero, power and revenge are the only forms of salvation that he can find from his demons, making the show an endless pursuit of both,’ a TIME review wrote.
‘However familiar its building blocks, the U.K. gangster drama is positively bursting with irrepressible energy, and it’s proof that, whatever a show’s premise, capable execution is everything,’ Huffpost echoed.
Will there be more Peaky Blinders?
The new movie spells the end of Tommy’s time on screen, but fans will be introduced to a whole new gang of Shelbys in a sequel series set in 1950s Birmingham with Cillian as an executive producer.
‘I’m thrilled to be announcing this new chapter in the Peaky Blinders story. Once again it will be rooted in Birmingham and will tell the story of a city rising from the ashes of the Birmingham blitz. The new generation of Shelbys have taken the wheel, and it will be a hell of a ride,’ showrunner Steven said.
We are guaranteed two new six-episode seasons with production currently underway.
Peaky Blinders seasons one to six are streaming on Netflix now.
