When Vicki Noratuk was 22, she was involved in a car crash that changed her life. Vicki was born blind, but she says the incident led her to see something which very few claim to have experienced. At the time, Vicki was working as a musician and as she was being driven home, a drunk driver smashed into the car, leading Vicki to be thrown out of the vehicle. What is a near death experience? 

Sometimes, when a person is on the brink of death, they have something known as a near death experience (NDE). In these experiences, people often report having out of body sensations, seeing their life flash before their eyes, a tunnel of light or spirits such as family members, and an overwhelming feeling of peace. Not all NDEs are positive, however, and there have been cases where people claim they saw hell, before ‘coming back to life’. (Picture: Getty)

But when Vicki had her crash, she told the YouTube channel NDE accounts – Afterlife Stories that she found herself in a body of energy or light, which had a head, arms and legs. She said: ‘It was like it was made out of light, and it was everything that was me – all my memories, all my consciousness, everything and it kept going in and out of my mouth.’ The interviewer asked Vicki how it felt to see during the experience, considering she has been blind since birth. Vicki replied: ‘It was scary at first, I was up above the street and then I was going in and out of my mouth, it was like I couldn’t make up my mind whether I was going to stay in my body.’ (Picture: Vicki Noratuk)

Following the crash, Vicki was rushed to hospital, where she found herself ‘up on the ceiling.’ She said: ‘Then I was totally out of my body, and looking down at everything that was going on.’ Vicki said that at first she had no idea what the images she was seeing were. She said: ‘It was terrifying…it was horrible and I wouldn’t have wished it on my worst enemy at first.’ She said: ‘[I] saw my physical body and I recognised my wedding ring from my first marriage, and I thought “oh that is me”. Vicki says when she tried to reach out to the doctors, her hand went right through them, adding: ‘Then this vehicle formed itself around me, it was a mode of transportation that’s for sure and it formed around me and then there was no one in it with me. And it went at a tremendously, horrifically rapid rate of speed but it wasn’t unpleasant. It was beautiful. And I went past hell, I heard and smelled it, that smelt like sulphuric.’ She said when she thought she wanted no part of hell, her vehicle went even quicker away from it. (Picture: Vicki Noratuk)

Vicki said: ‘As soon as I got to where I was supposed to, I heard this incredibly beautiful music. I ended up in this place that was similar to a park that was beautiful, it had huge flowers and I was ejected very pleasantly enough from this vehicle. Jesus was there. I was also greeted by two deceased classmates and two people who had taken care of me when I was a child, as well as my grandparents. Everybody who came to greet me was dead. Jesus held up his hand and he went “no”. Jesus told me that it was not my time yet, [saying] “You may not go to my father’s house now, you must go back and give birth to your children and you must learn and teach about loving and forgiving. You will be severely tested. You have been through many hard things and you will go through many more. Some of which man will call unforgivable but you must ask me for help and you must show love and forgiveness in all of your dealings with your fellow man because loving and forgiving are the key to life. Vicki says that Jesus showed her a summary of her life, where she not only experienced her own feelings in the moment, but also what everyone else in the scenario was feeling too – leading her to feel compassion for the people around her and giving her the ability to heal from the things that happened. Vicki said that everything was in its prime, including the people she saw. People contacted each other telepathically, but were not allowed to touch each other. She said: ‘It was overwhelming,  the emotions that I experienced were very overwhelming especially in the situation with my grandmother.’ (Picture: Vicki Noratuk)

Coming back to her body, Vicki described it as ‘awful’. She said: ‘It was a reverse of my going there but then the pain began and I was back in the body and it was heavy and horrible. I was nauseated and in shock and I was finally able to talk to someone about it, and I did confirm the things that I had heard [while she was in the hospital] about the blood on my left eardrum and all that all of that did indeed take place.
