Chieftain of the Peoples Democratic Party, Bode George, has accused the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike, of destabilising the PDP, describing him as a “political undertaker” whose actions threaten the party’s stability.
Speaking in an interview on ARISE News on Wednesday, George said only President Bola Tinubu could call the former Rivers State governor to order.
George said, “If he says he doesn’t want to do this and that, I will advise the President that if he doesn’t want to be working for him, there is more of what they call a political undertaker.

“You don’t need this in this country for God’s sake.”
He added, “Somebody needs to talk to him, and the only man to question him is the President.”
George criticised Wike’s political conduct within the PDP, questioning what he described as conflicting loyalties between the opposition party and the governing APC.
He said, “If he says he is a member of our party, he has appointed somebody now, nominated somebody to be the governorship candidate for APC Rivers, and he’s also nominated somebody to be PDP governorship candidate. What kind of thing is this? I have never seen anything like this.”
The PDP chieftain also accused some party members of refusing reconciliation efforts despite repeated attempts to resolve internal disputes.
“You can only force a horse to the brook. You cannot force that horse to drink,” he said.
“It is in their purview to accept that there is a political party with a programme, with a statute, with procedures. And if they fail to want to abide, that’s what I call them, agent provocateurs.”
George said the Supreme Court judgement on the party’s internal dispute had already clarified key issues surrounding the PDP leadership crisis.
“The Supreme Court has said, all those who are members of the working committee remain suspended,” he said.
He also defended the PDP’s survival despite the prolonged internal divisions, insisting the party would remain standing.
“We will not die. The founding fathers were committed, dedicated, ideal politicians. And they were committed to these two countries. So, they laid the foundation. The foundation is still with us.”
“So, no matter what we go through, difficulties, challenges, it doesn’t mean that you are down and out. You will never, never be out.”
