The deal is believed to be worth around $200 million, according to sources cited by celebrity site TMZ, though it said the exact amount is not detailed in legal documents. Britney Spears was arrested in California for driving under the influence.

The California Highway Patrol cuffed the Toxic hitmaker, 44, around 9:30 pm California time Wednesday night, law enforcement sources tell TMZ.

According to Ventura County Sheriff inmate records, she has since been released and is due in court on May 4.

Fans have also noticed that the pop star disabled her Instagram account sometime in the last week after posting revealing dancing videos, sparking concern among her followers.

Reports of the DUI have broken simultaneously with the news that Britney has been granted a permanent restraining order against a Louisiana man who was ‘stalking’ her.

The man in question is a 51-year-old named Donald, who Britney has claimed has been harassing her online since 2013, with her security team corroborating that he showed up at her L.A. home and was behind numerous ‘disturbing social media posts’ about her.

The court ordered Donald to stay 100 yards away from Britney at all times.

The legendary popstar, 44, broke out in the late 1990s and dominated the pop landscape of the Y2K era, becoming one of the biggest selling singers of all time.

After a decade of public scrutiny and press attention, she was placed under a controversial conservatorship after dealing with numerous mental health issues.

The Toxic hitmaker went on hiatus in 2018 to focus on getting out of the conservatorship, which she did in 2021 – hasn’t performed a full live show for almost eight years.

Britney revealed in January that she is planning to start performing live music again in the near future.

Taking to Instagram, she posted a picture of herself sitting at a piano during a live show many years ago, saying she plans to sell the instrument to her son Jayden, who she had during her three-year marriage to Kevin Federline.

In the caption, she added: ‘I hope to be sitting on a stool with a red rose in my hair, in a bun, performing with my son, in the UK and Australia, very soon.’

Earlier in her short statement, she revealed that ‘very sensitive reasons’ are what currently stand between her and any future performances in the United States.

She then addressed fan concerns about her online behaviour: ‘I dance on Instagram to heal things in my body that people have no idea about. Yup, and it’s embarrassing sometimes. But I walked through the fire to save my life.’

Speaking about Jayden, she added: ‘Sending this piano [in the picture] to my son this year! He’s a huge star and I’m so humbled to be in his presence! God speed, little man.’
