Clarkson’s Farm star Kaleb Cooper has revealed that he has never been in more pain ‘in his life’ after contracting a viral infection.

The 27-year-old farmer is certainly not the only person to have suffered a mishap or setback at the Diddly Squat Farm.

Last month, new Clarkson’s Farm star Harriet Cowan, 24, revealed that she had been rushed to hospital after ‘chopping the end of her finger off’.

This came after Jeremy Clarkson admitted that things are still pretty terrible’ at his Farmer’s Dog pub.

Now, however, Kaleb has shared a worrying update with his 3million followers on Instagram.

Talking to the camera while driving a tractor, Kaleb began by saying: ‘I’ve never been in so much pain in my life.’

He then added: ‘I don’t know how I’m saying this but I’m 27 years old and I’ve got shingles. It is so painful.

‘I thought only old people get that and no disrespect if you’ve got it and you’re maybe old.’

Describing what the condition feels like, he claimed: ‘Honestly, it’s like pins and needles continually in your body.’

He then began to say ‘it hurts like a…’ before stopping himself from swearing.

What is shingles?

Shingles, or herpes zoster, is a painful viral infection caused by the reactivation of the varicella-zoster virus, the same virus that causes chickenpox.

After a person recovers from chickenpox, the virus remains dormant in the body and can reappear later, typically causing a, usually, one-sided, stripe-like rash of blisters.

The first signs of shingles can be a tingling or painful feeling in an area of skin or a headache or feeling generally unwell, according to the NHS.

A rash will usually appear a few days later. In rare cases shingles can cause pain without a rash.

Pleading to his followers, he finished the video by asking: How do I get rid of it? Can I take a tablet to get rid of it really quickly or something?’

Shingles is a painful viral infection from the same virus that causes chickenpox.

While no cure exists, it is often treated with antiviral medication within 72 hours.

Early treatment is said to be critical to reduce the severity and duration of the rash and help prevent long-term nerve pain.

Elsewhere in the world of Clarkson’s Farm, it was revealed in February that Jeremy is being sued by a woman who was seriously injured in an accident after falling in the car park of his Farmer’s Dog pub.

Elizabeth Palmby, 68, broke her ribs and had to have surgery after tripping and slicing open her hand on ‘razor sharp’ temporary metal covers that had been placed in the carpark over muddy ground.

The injury was so serious that surgeons had to remove metal fragments that were left inside her hand.

Elizabeth said that what was intended to be a ‘fun’ trip to the pub left her with a ‘horrible’ jagged scar.

Former Top Gear presenter Jeremy, 65, opened the doors to his Cotswolds pub in April 2024.
