A recent scene in Coronation Street has left fans wondering if Jodie Ramsey (Olivia Frances-Brown) is about to become the soap’s next villain.

The character was introduced to us at the start of January, when we saw her in the back of a van that was being driven by Graham Foster (Andrew Scarborough).

It was a couple of days later that was discovered Jodie is Shona Platt’s (Julia Goulding) sister. Since moving in with the Platts, we’ve learnt that Jodie feels a lot of resentment towards Shona, who left the family home when she became a teen mum.

As a result, Jodie was left alone with her troubled parents. Shona is determined to reconnect with Jodie to make up for the years they’ve not been together, but she has no idea her sister is busy concocting a dark revenge plan.

A few weeks ago, Shona sat with Jodie and listened as she opened up about her past. She detailed a period in her life that saw her get abused by her partner, but Shona had no idea that her sister was telling a huge lie.

Earlier on in that episode, Jodie sat in a support group meeting and listened to a woman called Ellie tell a story about being a victim of domestic violence. Jodie then pretended Ellie’s past was her own, just to get Shona to feel bad for her.

There was also a moment where Jodie attempted to turn David Platt’s (Jack P Shepherd) attention away from Shona and onto her.

After opening up about the difficult childhood she had, Jodie asked David if they could watch a film together, claiming that she didn’t want to be alone.

Her strange behaviour continued in yesterday’s episode, when Jodie sat with a trinket box, full of a variety of items.

She picked up a USB stick, a lighter, and then a locket necklace with two pictures inside. Jodie was interrupted by the arrival of Shona, so she hid the necklace and kicked the box under the sofa.

Despite the scene being brief, fans are already sharing theories about why Jodie has such a random collection of things.

Taking to social media platform X, this user wondered: ‘Anyone else thinking Jodie is a serial killer and her box of trinkets are ‘souvenirs’ from her victims??? #Corrie’.

Echoing the theory, Kylie wrote: ‘It appears Jodie may be keeping some sort of trophy box…#Corrie’.

Sharing their suspicions about Jodie, Corey pondered: ‘Jodie just feels like the next serial killer in waiting…#corrie’.

Meena Jutla, played by Paige Sandhu, was an iconic Emmerdale villain who was responsible for killing three members of the village, and also committed a number of other horrific crimes.

The Emmerdale residents had no idea about Meena’s true self for ages. She also kept a trophy box, which had items from her victims inside. Could Coronation Street be going down a similar path with Jodie?

‘Jodie is a really interesting character’, producer of the show Kate Brooks said.

‘She’s a bit of a troublemaker, she’s got a bit of mischief in her eyes. All is not what it seems with Jodie and there’s a lot of layers to her. I think the audience are going to have a lot of fun unravelling who this person is, who Jodie is as a character and what she wants as well.

‘Keep an eye on her because there’s lots of secrets to explode and she’s going to bring an awful lot of drama to the Platt household.’
