Daniel’s Group Mobilises Supporters For APC Guber, Presidential Primaries

The Bola Ahmed Tinubu/Otunba Gbenga Daniel (BATOGD) political movement has directed its supporters to actively participate in the remaining All Progressives Congress (APC) governorship and presidential primary elections.

The group, sponsored by former Ogun State Governor and Senator representing Ogun East, Otunba Gbenga Daniel, said the directive was part of efforts to sustain support for President Bola Tinubu’s re-election and promote the movement’s political ideals.

The call was contained in a statement signed by leaders and members of the movement while explaining the reasons behind Daniel’s withdrawal from the Ogun East Senatorial Primary held on Monday.

BATOGD expressed appreciation to its members for complying with the movement’s directive during the senatorial primary, saying their actions helped avert what it described as a potential outbreak of violence.

The group stated: “The tactical stay away directive from the leadership averted what could have been the worst political bloodshed on innocent participants in the history of Senatorial Primary elections in the State.

“We thank Senator Otunba Gbenga Daniel for heeding the advice of the Movement, confirming that his ambition is not worth sacrificing the lives of his people. We believe he is one of the heroes of this democratic process.”

The movement reaffirmed its commitment to internal democracy, party unity, and the leadership of President Bola Tinubu.

“The Movement remains firmly committed to the ideals of internal democracy, party unity, and the visionary leadership of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.

“We now call on all our members, supporters, and associates to actively join and participate fully in the remaining APC primaries, particularly the Governorship and Presidential party elections,” the statement added.

The statement was signed by leaders of the movement from the nine local government areas that make up Ogun East Senatorial District.
