Jodie Ramsey (Olivia Frances-Brown) makes another unexpected move in Coronation Street next week as she offers to look after baby Connie, much to the shock of Carla Connor (Alison King).
The newcomer, as viewers know, has been causing chaos since her arrival on the eponymous Street back in January.
Having lied and manipulated her way into sister Shona’s (Julia Goulding) life, the expert schemer is desperate to drive a wedge between her sibling and her husband David Platt (Jack P Shepherd).
It’s not just her own family that she’s messed with, having targeted a few cobbles dwellers including Brian Packham (Peter Gunn) – who had his book nicked – and Bernie Winter-Alahan (Jane Hazelgrove), whose house was broken into by the newcomer.
And next week, it’s baby Connie that’s in Jodie’s sights.
Little Connie arrived on Carla and Lisa Swain’s (Vicky Myers) doorstep last week, much to the shock of the fan-favourite couple who had no idea who the six-month-old tot belonged to.
After some of that signature investigating she does so well, Lisa solved the mystery, revealing that Connie is the daughter of Carla’s brother Rob Donovan (Marc Baylis) and prison-guard Mandy Waring (Rebecca Atkinson).
Carla was against looking after Rob’s child at first, opening up about her own miscarriage over a decade ago as she reiterated all the torment Rob had bestowed upon her and the eponymous Street’s residents.
But after some careful consideration and words of support from Lisa, she had a change of heart, resolving to look after her niece.
It’s safe to say that Lisa and Carla have been doing a wonderful job of raising the little one but danger is on the cards next week in the form of villainous Jodie, who makes the couple quite an offer.
The newcomer offers her services to mind baby Connie in upcoming scenes, assuring Carla that she is fully qualified to do so.
