Leftist candidate Luisa Gonzalez is slightly ahead of incumbent President Daniel Noboa in two recent polls, as reported on Monday, in anticipation of the run-off election scheduled for April 13. Noboa had narrowly secured victory in the first round.
Gonzalez, who is a protégé of former President Rafael Correa, garnered 51.4% of voter intention in a Negocios & Estrategias poll conducted from March 24 to March 26, with a margin of error of 1.8%. Noboa followed closely with 48.6%, resulting in a technical tie between the two candidates.

In another poll by Pedro Cango, conducted between March 25 and March 30, Gonzalez maintained her lead with 51.9% of voter intention, while Noboa received 48.1%. This poll had a margin of error of 1.5%.
