Ellie Goulding has announced she’s given birth to a baby girl – her first child with boyfriend Beau Minniear.
The English singer, 39, shared the news on social media today, posting an adorable photo of her newborn wearing a white wool hat and baby grow.
Announcing the arrival, she wrote: ‘On Friday I gave birth to a beautiful healthy baby girl.
‘We are totally obsessed with her. It was fitting that I spent International Women’s Day with her and the incredible female team at St Mary’s, who provided me and my baby with extraordinary care and kindness. I will always be in awe of midwives.
‘This addition to my family fills me with so much joy, especially as Arthur is so happy to become a big brother to this little angel.’
Ellie has a son, Arthur, four, from her previous marriage to art dealer Caspar Jopling. They were married from 2019 until announcing their separation in February 2024.
She then started dating American actor Beau – who starred in The Beekeeper alongside Jason Statham – last summer after being introduced through friends.
The singer went on to announce her pregnancy at the British Fashion Awards in December.
A friend of the singer also told The Sun that since giving birth, Ellie and Beau are ‘absolutely besotted with their little girl’. ‘Both mum and baby are happy and healthy. This is the start of a really exciting chapter for them and Ellie and Beau are both in a wonderful baby bubble.’
Speaking about preparing to welcome her second child back in January, Ellie said: ‘I have an amazing boyfriend.
‘I do have it a little easier in that I do have amazing support. I’m still working every day and still writing every day,’ she explained.
‘It’s just that I am growing a human inside me. I’m perhaps not the most, like, Mother Earth about it, if you know what I mean?
‘It’s a beautiful thing to be able to grow a child, and I feel very lucky that I’m healthy – but it’s not all I am right now.’
Ellie and Beau only publicly confirmed their relationship in September during a low-key London date; however, fans had suspected the pair were an item months earlier.
In July the actor shared a carousel of photos on Instagram, slipping in a sultry snap of Ellie nude in bed. While her face was largely hidden, it was unmistakably her.
The singer finalised her divorce from Caspar in January last year, with the former couple remaining on good terms as they co-parent their son.
In the past few months Casper, 34, has also moved on and is now dating director and actress Olivia Wilde, 41.
Despite only just giving birth, it won’t be long until fans can see Ellie back on stage after it was announced this week that she would headline Radio 1’s Big Weekend in Sunderland on Saturday, May 23.
Meanwhile her sixth album will be released later this year. She dropped the first single, Destiny, from the new record in November.
Ellie had previously said her new album was partially inspired by the breakdown of her five-year marriage to Caspar.
‘There are some songs that are necessary for me to acknowledge that time in my life and to be respectful of it,’ she’s said.
‘Then there were some songs that were extremely reactionary and sad that I felt were good to do in the moment, but don’t serve me long-term.
‘It feels new. It feels different, this feeling of finally going to a place and releasing something and I don’t feel any pressure.’
Ellie went on to say her ‘label, friends and even ex-husband’ were ‘behind it and loves the songs’.
