Emily Atack has given us all some countryside home envy after moving into a cosy new place with her partner and son.
The Inbetweeners actress, 36, lived in north London previously but has now swapped the hustle and bustle of city life for a slower pace out in the sticks.
She’ll raise baby Barney there, whom she welcomed in June 2024 with boyfriend Dr Alistair Garner, a materials scientist.
Emily and Alistair reconnected as adults in 2022, and started dating before he popped the question, and she announced their engagement last July.
In her latest life update, the Rivals star has revealed their big house move, offering a glimpse of their adorable cottage before decoration commences.
Taking to Instagram this afternoon, Emily heaped praise on the removals company she’s used since living in her ‘single girl flat’ in Camden.
‘Every couple of years these lads turn up and move me and my mad collection of homeware on to pastures new,’ she joked, declaring this ‘the big one’.
‘As me Al, Barney and Penny have moved out of London and to the countryside to our dream home,’ she wrote on starting a new chapter with her family and pooch.
The pics Emily added to the post showcased its homely traditional features, such as the gorgeous stained glass windows at the property’s entrance, the quaint kitchen with exposed brick walls, and the living room’s wooden flooring.
Her dining room currently boasts a huge oak storage unit, and the wall panels are painted yellow, but she’s already vowed to bore everyone ‘to death’ with her unhinged wallpaper decisions’.
Emily and Alistair celebrated their move with a glass of bubbly and a Pizza Express delivery before getting stuck into unpacking, as boxes are piled high for them to go through in each room.
Her followers will surely be eager to see how she adds character to the place, but bits and bobs are already popping through, as, among her possessions, there’s a quirky multi-coloured footstool and some painted dinnerware.
Emily has also dotted various accessories around, such as a framed photo of her son and vases of flowers.
And it looks like she’ll be sticking with the traditional vibe for their abode, having already been on the hunt for one-of-a-kind items.
For example, in the comments, when asked where her dresser was from, Emily informed a follower that it was a Gumtree find.
Elsewhere in the comments of her post, fans and famous pals were keen to congratulate her and her future husband, with Lucie Jones writing: ‘Ah amazing! Mega congrats to you all 😍’

Speaking in 2024, Emily made a joyous declaration about how she feels her life is now, having landed her role as Sarah Stratton in raunchy drama Rivals and found security in her personal life.
‘I know Al will look after me and Barney,’ she told The Times. ‘I know he will be the best father and the best husband eventually.’
Emily added: ‘I am happier than I ever thought I could be.’
She went on to recall how being there to support Alistair when his father died after season 1 of Rivals wrapped filming confirmed her love for him.
‘We were together at the deathbed, and then afterwards we left the room and hugged,’ she shared. ‘We held each other for about 20 minutes, and we just knew.
‘This was love. This was real.’
Emily announced her pregnancy in late 2023, writing on social media that she was ‘delighted’ about becoming a mum.
‘I’ve never been so happy and utterly terrified at the same time’, she also admitted, saying how pregnancy made her appreciate her body ‘so much’.
She then announced Barney’s arrival into the world with a cute black and white snap, writing: ‘We have a beautiful son. Barney James Garner. All my dreams have come true.’
The comedy star is due to return in Rivals season 2, which lands on Hulu and Disney+ on May 15.
Cast members David Tennant, Danny Dyer, Alex Hassell, and Katherine Parkinson will also reprise their roles, with Hayley Atwell and Rupert Everett joining the ensemble.
