Europe isn’t short of unique attractions – from the Sagrada Familia in Barcelona, to Portugal do Pequenitos in Portugal, featuring miniature houses and monuments.
There are also plenty of theme parks and amusements – but until now, there’s never been a place dedicated purely to slides.
But Europe’s first indoor slide park is officially opening in the UK this week, throwing open its doors in Nottingham.
Known as Slick City Action Park, the indoor play area is said to be ‘built for speed, thrills, and all-ages fun’ and the slides reportedly deliver the sensation of a waterslide, but without the water.
The company is based in the US, and opened the world’s first Slide Park in Dever, Colorado in 2022.

Since then, they’ve launched dozens more across the US, but this new Nottingham location will be the very first of its kind across the pond.
In total, there will be 16 different slides inside, as well as a soft play area for smaller children, an arcade, air courts with springy floors where people can play dodgeball or basketball, and an AirGlider that is said to offer a ‘one-of-a-kind’ flying experience.
The steepest slide at Slick City is known as Riptide, and it features ‘one big drop’. There’s also Cowabunga, which has curves and bumps to deliver ‘non-stop thrills’, and Hyperloop, which features a vertical drop and a swirl around a massive bowl.
For those who get peckish, a range of hot food, snacks, candy, and drinks will be available to purchase at the park. As such, no outside food or drink will be permitted.
Tickets for Slick City vary, depending on how long you want to spend at the park. Prices start from £19.95 for a 90-minute session, and kids need to be over the age of four. This rises to £24.95 for 120 minutes.
AirGlider tickets start from £4 for one ride, or three rides for £10, and it’s £27.50 for 90 minutes in the park plus two turns on the AirGlider.

Absolutely!

The only other thing you need to know is that socks are a must inside, but you need a specific type known as CitySocks. These are sold at the park for £3 a pair, but are yours to keep and reuse.
Slick City is opening in Nottingham on March 12, and any big kids wanting to visit, the first Friday of every month is the time, as this is when adult-only nights will be running.
If this doesn’t sound like one for you, there are several other exciting places to play in the UK, including the world’s largest children’s play park at The Alnwick Garden in Northumberland, and The Playhive at Stockeld Park, which was previously crowned the UK’s best indoor playground.
