If you’re plan to survive the cold January nights is to hole up at home in front of the TV then we have you sorted.

First released in 2011 all five seasons of the heart-pounding, enthralling and fast-paced US crime thriller, Person of Interest, has just landed on Amazon Prime Video.

That means a whopping 103 episodes to dig your teeth into.

The show follows a ‘presumed dead’ former CIA agent, recluse John Reese (Jim Caviezel) who is hired by enigmatic tech billionaire Harold Finch (Michael Emerson) to help prevent violent crimes using a groundbreaking machine.

Touching on the world of espionage, surveillance and the dangers of cutting edge technology, it may have come out over a decade ago but its themes are more relevant than ever.

Not only does it have an intriguing speculative premise to reel you in but several seasons of the Jonathan Nolan show have secured a rare 100% Rotten Tomatoes score with wide-ranging praise.

IMDb user MiketheWhistle called it a ‘truly exceptional show’.

The review teased: ‘POI is a gem, although its genre might be difficult to determine. It’s not a police show, spy show, drama, etc, but it’s all those and more wrapped up into one.’

User Bwyg went as far as to say it was the ‘best series I’ve ever seen’ with ‘excellent actors, excellent writers, excellent camera work [and] excellent sound’.

Over on Rotten Tomatoes Michelle H called it a ‘superb’ and ‘binge-worthy’ show while Zoran hailed the ahead-of-its-time themes, calling it an ‘absolutely thrilling show that showcases the incredible impact of AI on everyone!’

As for critics, AV Club wrote at the time: ‘Emerson’s mysterioso act never gets old, and for a guy best known for having played Jesus, Caviezel gives excellent beatdowns.’

Slant added its two pence by dubbing it a ‘action-thriller that intersperses twist-filled standalone episodes into its season-long arcs.’

What’s more, for those who haven’t connected the dots yet, the creator, Jonathan, is also one of the executive producers on Amazon Prime’s adaptation of Fallout.

The post-apocalyptic series is one of the buzziest sci-fi shows of the modern era, starring Ella Purnell as protagonist Lucy MacLean.

Prior to this, he and his wife Lisa Joy were also the masterminds behind the dystopian series, Westworld.

So, if you’re a fan of either of those megahits then there is no time to waste in tuning into this lesser known show.

All five seasons of Person of Interest are available to stream on Amazon Prime Video now.
