The former Spandau Ballet singer Ross Davidson has been found guilty of raping a woman in 2015.

He has also been found guilty of the attempted rape and sexual assault of another woman in Thailand in 2019.

Davidson, 37, of Finchley, north London, was on trial at Wood Green Crown Court.

He had denied the charges of rape, attempted rape and sexual assault.

The woman he has now been found guilty of raping told the court that he had told her he wanted to have sex with a ‘still, lifeless, unresponsive’ person.

She told Wood Green Crown Court that they had discussed his fantasy of having ‘sex with a mannequin’.

The woman told the court: ‘[He] mentioned he liked the idea of having sex with a mannequin, a person in a helpless state, someone not moving.’

In his police interview, Davidson claimed he had consensual sex with a tourist he met on Tinder in Thailand in 2019, labelling the woman’s accusation ‘absolutely false’.

The woman, who cannot be named for legal reasons, says she woke up to find Davidson trying to have sex with her in a hotel without her permission or a condom.

She told the court that before the rape they had discussed his fantasy of having “sex with a mannequin” and also told the jury he put her in a collar without her consent.

Davidson performed under the stage name Ross Wild with the pop band Spandau Ballet and also starred in the Queen-themed West End musical We Will Rock You.
