Fire Outbreak in a Argentina Skyscraper

Over 100 individuals were evacuated from a luxury residential tower in Buenos Aires, Argentina, as a fire spread across multiple floors, according to emergency services.

Forty individuals received treatment for smoke inhalation, and several others were hospitalized before the fire was brought under control.

The cause of the fire remains undetermined. The 50-story building is situated in the upscale neighborhood of Puerto Madero. Alberto Crescenti, the head of Buenos Aires emergency services, informed local media that the fire had “spread all the way to the 15th floor.”

He noted that broken glass fell from the windows during the incident.

“Fortunately, the evacuation was swift, ensuring that people were not in danger,” he remarked.

Firefighter Christian Benitez assured AFP that all residents were safe.

“I heard the fire alarm and rushed downstairs as quickly as possible,” said Ornella Gril, 30, outside the building.

Mariano Pavone, a former footballer who played for River Plate and Real Betis, and a resident of the building, told Noticias Argentinas: “I saw smoke and went down with my son and my dog.

“Fortunately, nothing happened to my apartment. I’m worried about my neighbors. Thankfully, it was just a scare.”
