One of the ‘funniest TV shows in recent years’ has unveiled a look at its second season.

First airing in 2023, Amazon Prime Video’s Jury Duty followed a fake jury trial, with Ronald Gladden finding himself at the centre of the hoax and being completely unaware of what was unfolding.

After seeing a Craigslist advertisement asking for people willing to be part of a jury pool for a civil trial in Southern California that would be covered by a TV documentary crew, the solar contractor from San Diego signed up.

As the trial progressed, things, however, increasingly became more dysfunctional, with it eventually being revealed to Gladden the case was fake and everyone else was a paid actor – including James Marsden, who played an insufferable version of himself.

Following the show being dubbed ‘outstanding’ and ‘unique’ and getting nominated for three Emmy Awards and two Golden Globes, the show’s creators revealed that the second series would be set at a corporate retreat rather than a court room, which concerned some fans.

Now, however, after the release of a teaser trailer, viewers are thinking that the show might ‘strike gold twice’.

Taking to X, @aesopsolo wrote: ‘Love to see this. First season is some of the funniest TV of the last few years.’

Norton also said: ‘That teaser looks WAY more chaotic than I expected,’ as Mervin joked: ‘Day one HR meeting is going to be insane.’

Meanwhile, Tyler argued: ”A large part of me feels like Season 1 was the perfect lightning in a bottle at the right time and place with the right people, but I will absolutely be tuning in to Season 2 to see if they can strike gold twice.’

At the time the change of location was announced for season two, many fans queried how the follow-up would work.

‘I thought this show was one of the funniest I’ve seen in a long time. But that being said, i feel like it was the type of show you could really only pull off once,’ automaticzero shared on Reddit.

When previously asked about potential future seasons, showrunner Cody Heller previously Variety: ‘Obviously, it would have to be a whole different universe. You couldn’t just do jury duty again, because then people would be like, “Wait a second”.

‘But I do think that it’s possible. I do think there’s a million different worlds that this kind of thing could exist in.’
