Three Gladiators legends from the original 90s hit series are set to make a stunning return after more than 25 years.
Fronted by Ulrika Jonsson, the sports game show ran from 1992 until 2000 before being rebooted in 2024, with father-son duo Bradley and Barney Walsh at the helm.
Now, as the third season of the new reboot is underway, fans will have the opportunity to see some of the show’s most iconic stars, including Jet, Lightning, Hunter and Saracen.
Appearing live at the Gladiators Experience at the NEC Birmingham, visitors will be able to come face-to-face with the legendary Gladiators.
Describing what an ‘honour and privilege’ it is to return, Saracen said: ‘I never imagined that I would still be a gladiator over 30 years after the original show aired on TV.
‘This shows the popularity and influence the show has on the public and how important health and fitness has been and I am extremely proud to have contributed to this. This event is the next chapter of the Gladiator’s story, and this will extend into the future.’
Calling the invite to take part ‘brilliant’, Hunter also said how the show has been a ‘huge part of his life’ after he joined the show aged 19.
‘I was lucky enough to spend many years in my twenties having an incredible time competing on those iconic games,’ he said.
‘To see that viewers are now getting the chance to step into that world and have a go themselves is really exciting.’
Jet also added: ‘It gives me “gladiatorially” great pleasure to be hosting, supporting, and encouraging all abilities in our iconic show. Proving you’ve the speed, the strength, and the heart to be winners.’
The quartet will return to witness fans take on famous challenges and also take part in special meet-and-greet and photo opportunities.
Talking on her podcast GladPod: The Gladiators Podcast, Jet previously praised the ‘lovely camaraderie’ between The Chase presenter Bradley, 65, and his son Barney, 28, when the reboot first aired in 2024.
She also explained how it feels to watch Gladiators now having been a part of the original cast decades ago, stating: ‘You cannot divorce the Gladiator within.’
Comparing the line-up that she was a part of to the new stars taking on challenges including Duel, Gauntlet and The Ring, she said: ‘There was a part of me going, don’t be as good! Don’t be even better please!
‘Everyone had been saying before this production it’ll never be as good. It was and then some. And I literally couldn’t fault it at all.’
The Gladiators Experience will open from May 1 until August 31 at the NEC Birmingham.
